Harlen the administrator was going to give MHSCS their own spot under race coverage Like Ia. is going to get but the frist nigth after lebannon race there was so much negtive feedback an complaining over the Frank deal (Last I`ll speak of that topic)That he figured we better hold off an just let Monica post pictures an coverage under other race events for now.Which is a great start maybe soon Mo. could get its own section on here.So everyone think postive when posting an try to forget last weeks final speech of the day an rember what a nice day it was an great course an no one got serouisly hurt:D An be thankful we have 13 races this year instead of 9 like last year An we have the opportunity to race at all.

We are not organized yet but My bros and I have also started a race team. We are the Mid-West Thumpers. Actually all we have as of now are some cool shirts but we still like to call ourselves a team. We brought 15 racers to the last race hopefully we can keep these numbers up but it will be tough. Later, Josh

If they had fun I'm sure they will come back.
Shirts are cool. heck I have been a team of one for years.
but I guess you can look at like this. were all a team and last time out 177 team mates showed up to have fun and play.
not bad in my books.

Good points. I think everyone just got a little worked up being the first race and all.
I think good turn outs is what we need. I was on the phone today tryen to get some guys who have never raced to come to the next race.
I race bikes too and have spoken to a few of the bike guys. Nothing was known about what when on.
I will be at the White rock enduro the week after sedalia, I am pretty sure Steve will be there, so I am guessing Frank will be.
I may try and chat with him when I am on two wheels and get his thoughts.
One thing I have found out over the last couple of years, since in went from a bike racer to a quad racer. There really isnt any diffrence in the mentality or freindship with the racers.
Somehow we need to unit and make it a win win for both groups.
Both the bikes and quad racers hate the parking lot show offs ridding wheelies with no helmets.
The only big grip most of the bike guys have is ruining there single track, and I can respect that since I too Like to ride my bike on some good single track.
Just my 2 cents

I cant wait!! Just got my front axis and spent yesterday dialing them in! I did not know and still dont know what I was doing I just kept turning the little knob back and forth and finally just put it in the middle:ermm:! I will see you all there, I really liked this track the last time on a Mojave so I hope I like it on a YFZ!
And Geoff you still get arm pump with those nice flex barrs? Those things look awesome and seem like they would work better than an anti vibe steering stem. Anyway, I guess afterall you are an old fella and your old muscles just cant take it anymore:devil: :Dj/k Lol see you on Saturday! Later, Josh

Arm pump and all I still got second in class and 57 over all. That puts me in the top 1/3 rd of the trun out. Not bad for a old fart.
as for your shocks you should have a knop of rebound and one for compression. I work on my compression firts then my rebound to set my shocks up. For some reason I can't get the rebound right as easy as I can the compression.
well good luck and see you at the race.

It is only about an hour away so we will be there on Saturday morning!
Thanks for the shock adjusting tip Geoff, I only have one knob on mine, and then I can adjust my spring tension. To tell you the truth I dont know which one is compresion and which one is rebound. I think the little knob controls the rebound.huh Anyway I might have to call SHEP up sometime or just find him at the track to find out more.
Are a bunch of our AA guys going to be gone this weekend?

Check with Shep on the shocks. I always had two knobs on my shocks. SO sorry I can't help more.

Josh your top knob is commpression hard to soft an your rebound is at the bottom of your shock it controls how fast your shock rebounds threw whoops an bumps. I like it on the slow side so it dont po- go you off the quad.Use your 2 jam nuts at the top to adjust your ride high an stiffness off your spring.
Geoff aint Shep going to be in Ga.?sat

My guys did good as well. My race"team" Mid West Thumpers I got 2nd in the A class and 9th overall. In B Fred Conboy got 1st 10th overall. and Zack Werdehausen got 2nd in B with 11th overall. Darrion Williams got 2nd in the young guy C.
My bro Mitch was running B and flooded his KFX with water with less than a half mile left to go. He was winning B at this time. Sux to be him! Two races in a row he was winning and either wrecked or broke down. I told him to slow down through the water:devious: :uhoh: Anyway the race was Awesome. I really liked the track it was tight and technical. I cant wait till I get to race again! Wont hit another MO race until May14th b/c of work:( I will see you all there! later, Josh

You should have seen the face plant. My quad was standing on its front bumber in mud up to the bars and I was sperd eagle face down in the mud. It had to be funny looking cuz I was LMAO.
After that I could not even hold on to the bars cuz of the mud on my gloves. But had fun and I'm not upset with 3rd.
Your class had far more people in it so 10th is not bad.

What a great race. we had a blast!!!!
I must say those Hiper 4-1 are the ticket. that thing handled like a dream. I needed some of those elephant hand guards my hands got so muddy I couldnt hang on
Laz from GT thunder did a great job on the rear shock and lower link, and Dusty bent over backwards to get me my tye rods.
i wouldnt of been able to it with out ya.
i got a few great pics from Millers photos, what a great deal for us.
That was great that Erica stood up at the riders meeting at said what she did. I brought 1 new racer and 7 new fans this race. those new fans will turn into racers!!!!
Lets get over 200 racers before the end of the year.
What a great sport, and a great bunch of people to hang out with.

I must say. The new racer that came with us. had dificulties, bad battery. got to the race at 10:30. we got him going. his first race ever. he decided to go B-vet. and eneded up with a 9th place.

lmao, ya you gotta find the median where your going fast, but still be able to be in control of your bike, because if you push one or the other, such as go too slow so you have more control, or go too fast so you have little control, you will end up finishing bad anyway, better of to pace yourself and stay with the abilities you have as a rider

I dont do perry much anymore. I have a 5 mile xc cource here at the house.
I might run to Millfford or to white rock. besides that my schedule is kinda full.
I am running alot Enduro and HS races on the bike too.
My focus this year is kinda uniting the the quads and the bikes
I have been a bike guy for the last 34 years. i just started racing quads last year.
Like I have said. Do what you can to say hi to the bike guys. We are all the same!!!
XC riders need to be one!!!!!!

when i was up at the scoring thing getting everything straightend out, they put me in 2-3-4 when i was sposed to be in C class, i heard of someone cutting the course and getting a 8 minute lap, then some other guy came up there and told them about another person that cut the course, why cant everyone just stick to the course, what fun is winning if you know you won by cheating, kinda takes all the fun out of it

There were areas that it was easy to get confused in and it seems like they corrected the misstake and all so no harm done. We all make misstakes in life its what we learn from them that is importaint.

Aaron, this is what is posted for what can be changed or not changed for the stock class. We left it kind of simple that a quad could be inspected by just looking at to see if it is stock.
Rider cannot change the exhaust system, spark arrester, A-arms, swing arm, gas tank, carburetor (may change jetting), shocks, engine or frame. Engine and frame must be from the original manufacture for that make and model. For additional information contact Greg Kinkelaar at kinklr@centurytel.net or Tom Prendergast at tprender@hotmail.com

The only races you need an AMA card are for are the natinal HS races. Which i am pretty sure this year Kohoka is not.
It doesnt realy make sence for the quads though. Since its only a national for the bikes.
I would also think the gate fee should be 5 instead of 10.
The last race at Park hills is requring a AMA card so it must be a bike national.

Yeah it was one long drive, I left louisville at 10:30 saturday night, we got to the track around 10:00am. I had a great start and first 2 laps, but then crashed off one of the table tops. Nick wants the MO points, But it doesnt matter for me. if I go to lorrettea's i will be going down friday morning. Anyways, Nick did very well in Iowa, I think top 5, we are stil waiting on the scores to be posted.

It was a great day, just hard on me and the bike. hopefully see everyone at the finger lakes race, or lorrettas it all depends if I can race by then or not.
Glad to see you guys made it Nick sounded panicked when he called Sunday morning for directions.....:D Hope that MRI comes out alright.:muscle:

Motoboy, I was not to tired after 2 laps either. I was probaly the 7-10th or how ever many I made. 2 hours is a LONG time! Plus on the second lap I cased that up hill tripple really really hard and hit my face on the bars. I think I have whip lash, I have no Idea why in the he!! I tried to jump that monster. Anyway what happend to your quad? I may have some parts for ya! Later, Josh

Thnaks for the offer of parts, but i got everything I need already. Really the quad was not all that bad, bent stem, broken twist throttle, broken plastics, and bent handle bars. I am sure If I could have stayed in it that I would have been dead at the end, just like everyone else.

Yea I did not want to get passed. I could hear what sounded like a pack of quads all around me cause I had a stock pipe on the 450. Turns out there was alot of people behind me cause after I killed the quad about 10 people passed. And yea it hurt, it took me a while to shake it off. I dont know if I ever really did my neck still hurts! By far the dumbest choice for me the entire race. Anyway good race Matt, I dont even what to know the results b/c I was running mid pack to close to the back of the pack. :ermm: Just could not get noting together. I know for sure you and my Bor Mitch finished in front of me because of that mud hole that swalowed me on the last lap. I dont know if I could of held anyone off the rest of that lap anyway. I was soooooo tired and getting sloppy. Later, Josh
ya i cant wait for the next race :macho

ya i should have never been back there up till the 3rd lap i was running in the top 5 there was a couple pf people watching me and they said i was in the top 5 but my engine died on me for some reason, i think due to sucking in to much dust and then from on then hell broke loose, lost my seat twice and got sucked in that mud hole. if u go to the photo place were kim muz posted go to the very back page and u will see me green kaw stuck in the mud over the wheels

YEa Matt that race must not have been good to either of us. I ussually never get very tired. This race I was dead. The 2 hours played a part but I was tired well before that. I dont know man I just did not get in "the groove" that race. I would like to race another Iowa race sometime this year. I think they are pretty dang cool, all the free stuff and they acctually like you to be there! They love quads, it is quads only! That is awesome. I hope to get to race with you agian this year. Later man, Josh

That Iowa race did take a beating on me too. I was tired the first lap and my thumb went out, and then a blister formed on the side of my hand the size of a silver dollar. It was weird too, I was in first geat in the woods, the soil was like sucking me down. The results for B class are still not up.

Me too!! Me too!!:D ---Well, I'll say it again....if the rest of the tracks this year are that tough, I'm gonna be in big trouble!! That was just crazy!! I actually looked forward to the MX part, and Matt knows that I dont like to jump!! Thats how hard it was for me! Oh well, I cant think of a better way to experience my first race. Cant wait for Ottumwa!

No swhe has to work this weekend. She has been doing the weekend shifts so she can be home during the week with the kids. I'm hoping she will come visit when Mike is out of school.

One word comes to mind Randy. " ATE UP "
It is funny though , back then we were all so involved into the MHSC series and called it home for so many years that it is now just a memory.
It had been going that way for awhile however , the promoters were only for them selves and cared nothing about ATV'S or ever will.
There was ALOT of wasted time by me and so many others with that series in trying to make it better and it comes to this.
No hard feeling's but will never again be involved with some of the Promoters that ran the series; except for Tom P, Greg K, The florence Mo crew, Tim M, Erica , and all the ATV people.
But the bike promoters can kiss my @^%@^% !!
Tired of boken promises , false dreams and popularity awards.
JUST ANOTHER RACER AGAIN AND ABOUT DARN TIME !!!!
YEEEEEEEHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWW !!!!!:D :D :eek2:
