I have just been the lucky one to snap a LoneStar +2 axle! I managed to accomplish this at Little Sahara Waynoka, Ok today. Only jumped 3-4 ft. in the air with a total distance of 6 feet max.

The landing was wierd to say the least.... I thought I had bent the rear shock... only to look down to my right and see that I was dragging in the sand, did a double take, yup it was true the tire was gone. I looked back up the hill from where I had launched only to see the tire sticking straight up out of the sand supported by the other half of my axle!

It really didn't help that I was stuck right in the middle of the bigger dunes, half way betwen the north and south campgrounds. Luckily we were able to find a pickup to haul the quad back into camp.

On a side note. The Raptor doesn't work so good when converted to a 3-wheeler!! LOL. I had to laugh.

Here are some pics.... To me it almost looks as if either the axle was cracked or stressed a long time ago or it was a factory defect. The pictures should show how half the axle diameter is a new clean break, while the other half looks a bit rusty/discolored.

spud400ex, I wish I would have seen you... I probably would have if I hadn't broke the axle so soon Saturday afternoon.
Looks like it will be a while before I head back down to LS. Going to install suspensions components before I ride it again. Hopefully the middle of November I should be going....

Damn, broke clean off!?!?! How was the sand this weekend? I imagine it got pretty wet yesterday, it hasn't stopped raining here since early yesterday morning!

Do the Lonestar axles have a lifetime warranty?

Ya it was rough.... maybe it was because of the first time I had tried SandStars on the Raptor why the LSR axle broke.

I know they have a lifetime warranty but I did not purchase the axle new.... hopefully I can get it worked out to get me a new replacement.

The Raptor will soon be much nicer, that is if I can find an axle replacement. I just ordered some +2 Janssen arms and Elka Elite with rezzies for the front, was planning to order a +2 swingarm but that might be put on hold if I have to buy another axle......

Planning to go to LS at least for the Friday before Halloween if I have a rolling quad by than. Hope to see some of you there if you are going that weekend.
