Interview:
Josh Frederick - 2007 WORCS Pro ATV Champion
- Continued
You’ve
been racing WORCS, but you’ve also raced
a few other events like the Maxxis Endurocross.
How was that for you?
I loved it! That’s the good thing about
racing for Can-Am, they give me the freedom
to go around to all these other events and try
them out. I just love to ride 4-wheelers so
wherever I can go, I just go and have fun and
do the best I can.
During
2007 alone, Josh Frederick also raced
in the WPSA and ATV Endurocross on a
CanAm Outlander
How was it racing
the Outlander 650?
I really enjoyed racing the Outlander. It’s
a different beast, but I really enjoyed it.
You are competitive
in all different types of racing. What keeps
you coming back to the WORCS series?
I like it because it’s not only a test
of your machine, but also a test of your physical
strength. Kind of like a GNCC, you have to
be in top physical shape to run an hour and
a half as hard as you can. I like that; I
like to challenge myself. Plus, in my opinion,
it’s the most professional series on
the West Coast, so I’m going to support
it and help make it grow.
Have you ever raced
in a GNCC race?
I never have. I would like to, but I don’t
know…I’m scared of the trees!
(laughs) There aren’t a lot of trees
in Nevada.
What are your plans
for the rest of the season? Will you be racing
the final WORCS round in Taft, CA?
Yes, I will definitely be at the final round
in Taft, and also the final round at ITP Quadcross
at Glen Helen. After that we’ll start
testing for next year because I know Doug
is going to come out swinging next year. They
have his bike working really good. I need
to just keep going and training. I’m
looking forward to next year.
Are you going to be
racing the Baja 1000 this year?
Not this year. I’m going to take some
time to spend with my family.
Josh
Frederick with his wife, Tiffany, and
two children ( Madlynn & Gavyn)
How is your family?
They’re doing good. They’ve been
out here with me playing in the ocean all
week.
How has the adjustment
to fatherhood been?
It’s been good. I enjoy it. They are
really supportive of my dreams. You can’t
ask for anything more!
When you aren’t
racing, what do you do for fun?
I mostly just hang out with my family and
basically just hang out at home. I love to
be home.
Who were some of your
main supporters this year?
Can-Am, they were great! Epic, KYB, Brett
helped us out. Curtis Sparks helped with the
motors. There’s so many! Douglas Wheel,
ITP, Laeger Custom, BlingStar, Fly, Scott,
and especially the Epic mechanics for working
day and night getting the quads ready. Also,
my family and all the people that were out
there rooting for me and keeping me going
through all this, it really means a lot.
Congratulations
on your championship, Josh and we wish you
luck with the remaining ITP season and preparing
for the 2008 season.
Thank you!
