Josh Creamer Interview:
2010 AMA Pro ATV Motocross - Continued
ATVriders.com:
Are you still on a stock Suzuki LTR450 Quad
Racer? Josh Creamer:
I have JB Racing A-arms, steering stem, Fox
shocks some Yoshimura engine work. Not a whole
lot but it really makes a difference.
ATVriders.com:
Are you happy with your program so far? Josh
Creamer: Really happy. Suzuki
is giving me everything I need to have a successful
season.
Tthe
majority of Josh Creamer's main track
is in his front yard, but it also wraps
around the house and goes out back,
where a nice section of it goes through
his woods, and the main track takes
an aveage of 2:30 to complete one lap,
but because of all the rain lately,
Josh has built another sand track completely
in the woods. The two tracks combined
provide a 4:20 laptime
Josh
Creamer rented a wheel loader to build
his track, but he also has his own Cat
D3 bull dozer for maintenance
ATVriders.com:
You recently bought 50 acres in Florida and
built a practice track on it. Can you describe
your track a little bit? Josh
Creamer: Yeah, it’s like
an outdoor Supercross track. There are lots
of jumps. They’re not all really huge,
but there are a few big ones. Chad (Wienen)
came out here a little while ago to check it
out and he mentioned that the landings were
pretty short, but the track is set up for precision
riding; that’s the way I wanted it. It
can also get pretty rough, and it really beats
you up, but I figure if I can do a 30 minute
moto out there and not get tired, then I’ll
be ready for anything.
ATVriders.com:
The soil in Florida is pretty sandy, did that
come in to play at all when you were building
your track? Josh
Creamer: Yes, it did. Everything
I had built with my dozer was getting worn down
pretty quick so I got some more equipment and
had a couple of buddy’s from back home
come down and help me. We dug down about 30-40
feet to where there was some clay and we dug
that up and spread it around the track and mixed
it in, and that really help keep everything
together.
The
biggest jump on Josh's track is "Big
Blue", which is 105 feet in length,
but at one of his practice tracks up
north in CT, Josh has another "Big
Blue" jump at 130 feet
ATVriders.com:
You also came across a pretty unique discovery
when you were digging. Josh
Creamer: Yes we did. There’s
a limestone bed about 40-50 feet down and
we found all kinds of fossilized seashells
in there. It was pretty cool!
ATVriders.com:
Your new house is pretty cool as well. Can
you tell us a little bit about the décor? Josh
Creamer: My dad came down
here and helped me paint and put in new carpet.
He also brought a bunch of game heads from
some of the big game hunting trips we used
to go on when I was younger. I have them all
over the house.
