Columbia, South Carolina - While
many manufacturers put out a side by side vehicle,
most are designed for recreational purposes, but
the 2011 John Deere Gator is purpose built for
work, and as with any John Deere product, you
know that you are not only getting a quality machine,
but also a very unique buying experience.
John Deere has been known for years as one
of the top manufacturers of farming equipment
and lawn mowers in the United States. In addition
to offering incredible convenience for the consumer,
John Deere has built their reputation on making
durable, high quality machines that are made
to work as hard as their owners do.
We at ATVRiders.com were recently invited to
test out John Deere’s 2011 line up of
Gator XUV utility vehicles and we must say that
we were pleasantly surprised by the quality
and performance of these units.

arriving at Carolina Adventure World,
John Deere had their entire model lineup
of Gator XUV models lined up ready for
the all the different media outlets to
take turns at riding on the extensive
trails available at Carolina Adventure
World |
When we arrived at Carolina Adventure World
for the presentation and test ride, John Deere
had their complete model line-up of Gator XUV
vehicles on hand to test ride with numerous
different accessories mounted on their Gator
625i, Gator 855D Diesel, and new high performance
Gator 825i.

John Deere’s diesel model, the Gator XUV
855D is powered by a 3-cylinder diesel engine
that features a self-bleeding fuel system.
The Gator XUV 855D has 25 horsepower, which is
the most horsepower a diesel UTV can put out before
it is subject to EPA emission standards and restrictions,
that would require the addition of emission controls,
which would not only add more weight to the machine,
but it would also increase the price. 25 HP may
not seem like a lot compared to performance inspired
UTV’s, but for the purpose of farm or construction
type work, it is more than sufficient to get the
job done.
