Round 7 Pro Race Report
::Continued::
Thomas Brown looked smooth despite the rough
conditions and was right on Upperman’s grab
bar off the start. Brown held his position all
the way to the checkers despite pressure from
Chad Wienen who was bringing up the rear to finish
in a solid second place.

Chad Wienen continued to charge despite

Chad Wienen got off to a third place start and
stayed in that position as the mud and water took
its toll. Wienen would finish moto one in third
place, which would keep him in the points lead.

Josh Upperman grabbed the Moto 2 Holeshot
& barely held off Wienen & Brown
to claim the win by a slim margin |
Conditions were still wet and muddy for moto two,
and this time Josh Upperman clearly grabbed the
Holeshot over Motoworks’ Chad Wienen followed
by Thomas Brown.
Upperman would maintain his lead the entire moto
despite pressure from Chad Wienen and take the
moto two win to give him the overall win for round
seven.
Chad Wienen was in hot pursuit of Josh Upperman
the entire moto, but the slick conditions prevented
him from being able to take the lead, forcing
the number 44 Can-Am to settle for second place,
which would put him in second overall for the
day. “It was all about just finishing today.
Our goal for this season is to ride smart and
get no DNF’s and if that means having to
back off a bit to accomplish that, then that’s
what I have to do,” stated Wienen.

Thomas Brown's third place finish in the
second moto allowed Chad Wienen to claim
second Overall followed by Brown |
Despite staying in the hunt the entire moto,
JB Racing’s Thomas Brown wasn’t able
to make a move on either Josh Upperman or Chad
Wienen, so Brown crossed the finish line in third
place just a few feet behind Wienen.
With round seven out of the way, racers were
hoping for drier conditions for round eight as
the points chase had tightened up between Josh
Upperman and Chad Wienen and the championship
was still up for grabs.
