WORCS Racing - Round
1 - Pro ATV Race Report
::Continued::
In lap 12, Yamaha’s #94 Dustin Nelson would
catch and pass his teammate, Row, to take over
the fourth spot, which he held to the checkered
flag. Row would end the day rounding out the top
five.

Yamaha's
#94 Dustin Nelson made the pass on his teammate,
#417 Josh Row, to take over the 5th spot
with Row finishing in 6th place |
“It was like a cat and mouse game out there,
every time you’d think you were gaining
time you’d have to slow down and someone
would catch up. It was really a survival race,”
regarded Row of the mud fest that was round one.

Can-Am's #2
Josh Frederick kicked off the 2013 season
with a 6th place finish
|
Can-Am / Motoworks’ Josh Frederick took the
sixth spot. The Can-Am racer had to pit midway through
the race and change exhausts. “We ran a different
bike set up today; we tried to keep the bike sealed
up so the mud wouldn’t be a factor and we
think it overheated a bit. Once we swapped pipes
I was good to go,” said Frederick.
Collins Webster rode his Can-Am to a seventh
place finish and was followed by Jorie Williams.
Dillon Zimmerman and rookie Keith Johnson rounded
out the top ten in the Pro class. Johnson had
had a good start and battled with Row for the
holeshot but fell back in the pack as the race
progressed. Zimmerman also had a good start, but
bolts came loose on his sub-frame in the second
lap, which slowed down his charge.
In the Pro Am ATV class D.J. Noerr took the win
by nearly two minutes aboard his Yamaha. The win
was impressive because the night before Noerr
had considered scratching from the race because
of a kidney stone.

#842
DJ Noerr secured the Pro-Am ATV Class win |
“I had a decent start; I was in second
or third and I just tried to put some good laps
down. I knew I had to ride strong and that’s
what I did. I am really happy with today,”
said Noerr.
Grant Mitchell turned his second to last start
into second place on the podium. “It was
a great race. Everyone was riding good and my
H&M / Maxxis Tires Honda was working great,”
regarded Mitchell. Mike Sloan rounded out the
top three in Pro-Am ATV.
