WORCS ATV Pro-Am Points Leader Collins
Webster maintained his points lead despite
placing fifth |
Webster started to slow down, not for lack of
endurance but because his quad was malfunctioning.
Chase Thomas would also pass Webster due to his
mechanical problems. After the race Webster stated,
“An injector started to fail which caused
my bike to run poorly. I made it back to the pits
and had it changed, which put me behind ten minutes.
I made five of those ten minutes up on the leader
but I could only manage to salvage a fifth place
finish. My pride was hurt but I am looking at
the big picture and the championship is the goal!”
Third place would go to Keith Johnson who would
run second on the first lap and then fall into
a rhythm of running in third and fourth position.
When Webster had his quad issues, Johnson would
benefit from his misfortune and claim the final
podium position of third behind Thomas in second
and Fuller in first. Johnson is also looking forward
to the last round at Speedworld MX Park, “I
am glad I made it through this round with a podium
position, this is one of my least favorite tracks
and the big sand whoops took a toll on my body.
I fought hard on my LMR, Maxxis, Elka Honda and
took the checkered flag with a huge sigh of relief.
The last round will be a battle for points positions”
stated Johnson .
