Alvord, TX (6/14/12) - For round
number seven, the series headed to Oak Hill MX
in Alvord, Texas. Weather conditions were a bit
warm with temps hovering around the 100 degree
mark, but track officials kept the course well-watered
so dust wasn’t much of an issue.
In the Open Expert class, the battle between
the Miller brothers, Cody and Hunter, raged
on. Cody and Hunter have been swapping overall
wins all season long and round number seven
saw Hunter Miller take both moto wins and the
overall, putting him in the class points lead.

Cody Miller grabbed the Holeshot in TQRA
Open Expert Class Moto 1 |
In the First Open Expert moto, Hunter Miller
was second off the start after Cody Miller grabbed
the holeshot, but Cody Miller ended up blowing
a berm, which allowed Hunter to take the lead.
“I was right behind Cody and he went a
little hot into a turn and went over the berm,
and that gave me the lead. I just kept going
and was able to pull away a little bit and take
the win,” said Hunter Miller.
“I felt good out there, but I went into
this one turn a little too fast. I ended up
blowing the berm and Hunter got by me. I tried
to close in but I ran out of time and finished
in second,” said Cody Miller.
In moto two, it was an all-out war all the
way to the finish line between the Miller’s.
Cody Miller grabbed the holeshot once again,
but Hunter Miller was on a mission to take the
overall win. The pair battled back and forth
the entire moto before Hunter Miller was able
to edge out Cody Miller for the win and the
overall. “It was a really fun race. We
went back and forth the entire time and I just
happened to be ahead when we go to the checkered
flag,” said Hunter Miller.

Hunter Miller as they came charging through.
Cody Miller stayed strong and was able to hold
off Hunter Miller for the moto win, while Hunter
took second and Austen Dinger claimed a solid
third. “It was a pretty good moto for
me. I got out front and just kind of stayed
there for the whole time,” said Cody Miller.
