Southwick, MA - The seventh
round of the NEATV-MX series was held at the
famous MX 338 in Southwick, Massachusetts. The
morning of race day was cloudy with on and off
showers. After a few hours, the clouds departed
and it got hot, which dried the track out fast.
This resulted in the sand moving everywhere,
producing big breaking bumps, sharp edged acceleration
bumps, and a very difficult track to ride, especially
in the second half of the day. This track took
a lot out of the riders, who only got two laps
of practice in the morning, and no practice
Saturday. Even some of the most fit riders had
difficulty with the track.

Maxxis'
#191 Dustin Wimmer came on strong in
Moto 2 to claim the win & overall
in the Pro Class
|
2008/2009 AMA ATV MX National Champion Dustin
Wimmer didn’t seem to have a problem with
the continually worsening track conditions.
In the first Pro moto, Wimmer came off the line
in third behind former teammate Josh Creamer,
and number 172 Preston Young. Wimmer made quick
work on Young, taking second. Unable to catch
up to Creamer, Wimmer took second in the first
moto.
In the second moto, Wimmer flew off the line
falling into second behind Creamer. Fox Shocks
Dustin Wimmer set his sights on Creamer and
was able to make a pass in a back section of
the track. Wimmer took the lead and began to
set distance between him and the other riders.
Wimmer finished first, taking the overall win
in the Pro class.

Josh Creamer grabbed the Moto One Holeshot
& held the lead to the finish for
the Moto 1 Win
|
2010 AMA ATV MX National Champion Josh Creamer
ran hard in both his Pro motos. Creamer charged
to the front in the first moto, taking the Nac’s
Holeshot Award. He was able to make good distance
from the other riders, and kept himself out
in the lead for the first moto.
In the second Pro moto, Creamer again took
the Nac’s Holeshot Award. The battle between
Creamer and Wimmer for first ran the entire
moto. Creamer was able to hold Wimmer off for
four laps, until Wimmer was able to get by taking
over first. With the track getting more and
more tough, Creamer was unable to catch Wimmer,
finishing second overall for the day in the
Pro class.

#19 Jason Dunkelberger to claim the
final spot on the Podium
|
2010 NEATV-MX Pro and Pro-Am Champion Cody
Miller started off in fourth behind Wimmer in
the first Pro moto. Miller battled with Jasmin
Plante in the first few laps and was able to
make the pass. He then battled it out with Jason
Dunkelberger, but was unsuccessful at passing,
and finished fourth in the first moto. “The
track was a lot of fun, definitely a good work
out and challenging,” commented Miller
on the changing track conditions.
Miller started off the line in fourth in the
second moto and was able to get around Dunkelberger
in the first lap. Miller worked his way closer
to Wimmer and Creamer, but was unable to get
close enough to make any moves.
