NEATV-MX Pro & Pro-Am Production ATV Race Report
::Continued::

Cody Miller - Can-AM DS450 ATV

Elka's #22 Cody Miller goes 3-3 in the Pro-Am Class for third overall

BCS Performance/Can-Am Cody Miller claimed the Nac’s Holeshot Award in the first Pro-Am moto. Miller was passed by Creamer in the first lap, but held onto second for a while before being passed by Wimmer as well. “I chose the wrong line both times, which allowed Creamer and Wimmer to pass,” stated Miller. He took third in the first moto.

In the second Pro-Am moto, Miller came off the line in third. Miller banged together with a few other guys in the first corner, but was able to pull out of that and still keep his third position. Miller kept close to Wimmer and Creamer for the first three laps, but began to lose ground and would take third in the second moto, giving him third overall for the day.

Trevorton, Pennsylvania’s Jason Dunkelberger ran two good motos in the Pro-Am class. Dunk came off the line in the back, but worked his way up into the fourth place position. He finished fourth in the first moto. In the second moto, Dunk started off the line in fourth behind Miller. Dunk held onto his position for the entire moto. He finished fourth overall in the Pro-Am class.

South Royalton, Vermont’s Brad Burbine took fifth overall in the Pro-Am class. In his first moto, Burbine had a rough moto, finishing in seventh. In the second moto, Burbine’s throttle stuck in a turn which forced him to take a DNF.

Nicole Gates - Can-AM DS450 ATV

#171 Larissa Griffiths held off #44 Nicole Gates in Moto 2 to claim the Women's Overall Win

In the Women’s class, Larissa Griffiths took the overall win this weekend. She had great starts which allowed her to stay out front and take a 2-1 resulting in her win. Can-Am DS 450 rider Nicole Gates has had an exceptional season for her first year in the series. She went 1-2 in her Women’s motos, finishing second overall. Rounding out the top three is Jaclyn Macquarrie, who took third in both moto’s.

Travis Spader didn’t let the rough ride stop him from taking the overall win in the 25+ class. Spader came out front in both motos and was able to hold off Matthew Pomeroy from making any passes. Spader finished both motos out on top in first place. Pomeroy also had great starts, trying to find a line to make a pass on Spader, but was unfortunate. Pomeroy went 2-2 in the 25+ motos, taking second overall for the day. Delmar, Delaware’s JT Elliot filled out the podium, finishing 3-3 in both his motos, ending with a third overall.

Jason Hyde - Can-AM DS450 ATV

#6 Jason Hyde claimed the 30+ A Class Win over #30 Travis Spader

The Open A (16+) class was rather light this weekend with only seven riders. Abram Hakala showed off his speed in both his motos, getting out in front and gripping onto his first place position. Hakala wouldn’t allow a pass, which allowed him to go 1-1 in both motos, taking the overall win. North Stonington, Connecticut’s Justin Hoffler also had good starts, allowing him to keep out in front. Hoffler tried to chase down Hakala, but was unsuccessful. He went 2-2, allowing him to take the second overall. Southside Polaris’ Jesse Onesti would round out the podium, with a 4-3 finish in his motos.

The eighth round of the NEATV-MX Series will revisit MX207 in Lyeman, ME. The UTV’s and Trophy Kart’s races will be on Saturday.
