NE EDT Racing Round 5 ATV Race Report
::Continued::

Maul Tech ATV / Wolff Motorsports / RATH Racing’s Nathan Wolff made the trip from his home state of Illinois to race at the famous Pine Lake facility and was able to claim a fourth place finish after duking it out with Medlin for the majority of the race. Tru-Way Racing / Fischer Cycle’s Tiffer Bures also put on a great performance and was able to bring home a top five finish for himself at round five.

In the Pro-Am class, twenty racers battled for fifteen laps to decide who took home top honors for the event. Close Encounter Whitetails / WISECO / MAXXIS Tires / Elka Suspension’s Chuckie Creech showed the rest of the pack his rear number plate as he tore into the first corner with the lead and holeshot.

Chuckie Creech NE-EDT Racing

WISECO's #25 Chuckie Creech took the early lead in the Pro-Am Class

Creech was pursued by Michael Houghton in second place and Brad Riley directly behind him in third place as they rounded the first two bends of the course. Creech quickly set out on a blistering pace and began to put a gap on the rest of the field and they too, battled for their own positions amongst the rough and dusty track. Creech soon came under fire from Riley however and had a stiff battle on his hands for the majority of the race. Creech began to pull away in the latter part of the race however after Riley’s seat became unattached which dropped him off the pace, allowing Creech some extra leeway to take home the win.

Chuckie Creech captured the win in the NE-EDT Pro-Am Class

“My RAGE ATV motor and MAXXIS Tires really put the power to the ground in the Pro-Am race and I got off to a great holeshot. Eric Ashcraft from CEWO and I dialed the bike in during the practice and heat races really well, but I felt like I was making some mistakes out there. I was trying to build a gap for myself to have some breathing room and I felt Brad right there on me a few times and then he was gone so I wasn’t sure what happened but then I found out that he lost his seat! I’m really happy to take the win and move a little close to the battle for the championship,” said Creech.

Brad Riley NE-EDT Racing

Brad Riley finished in second in the Pro-Am Class

SSi Decals / MAXXIS / PEP Suspension / O’neal’s Brad Riley had his work cut out for him coming out of the holeshot in third place behind Creech and Houghton. However by the end of lap one, Riley was able to get around Houghton to begin his pursuit of Creech in first place. Within a few laps he was right on the heels of Creech and began picking different lines and angles to try and get the upper hand. However early on in the race, Riley’s seat came off, which with the rough track conditions, made for an extremely tough race for him. Riley was forced to back off the pace a bit, but still took home a solid second place finish.

Michael Houghton NE-EDT Racing

Michael Houghton rounded out the Pro-Am Class podium in third

Earnhardt Racing / Hoosier / Pippard Performance / The Program’s Michael Houghton has been the most consistent racer this season thus far and has brought home another podium finish for himself and his team. Houghton got off to a great start in second place, just behind Creech off the holeshot. Houghton lost ground a bit on the first lap, giving up second place to Riley but stayed on the throttle to bring home a third place position on the podium.
