Ashtabula, OH - Maxxis
Tires’ Brad Riley topped the Pro and Pro-am
Unlimited podiums at Ashtabula, and Harold Goodman
claimed victory in the Pro-am production class,
while racing legend Jackie Meadows made his return
and took the win in the Open Pro 3-wheeler class
at round number six of the 2012 Extreme Dirt Track
series.
It was an awesome weekend for racing with good weather
and the biggest turnout of the season at Ashtabula.
With the dry conditions, the track was considerably
dustier than in previous years, and it became a
bit rough toward the end of the day on both Saturday
and Sunday, but those conditions were ideal for
Brad Riley.
In the Pro main event, Maxxis’ Brad Riley
was in third off the start behind Nathan Wolff and
Harold Goodman. Riley began to pressure Wolff immediately
and was able to make the pass after just a couple
of laps. “I was behind Nathan and had tried
the option lane a couple of times before but couldn’t
make it work, but that time I did and got by him.
I started to close in on Harold and then pressured
him for a while. He ended up making a mistake and
I got by him. From there I just pulled away,”
said Riley, who took his lead all the way to the
checkered flag for the pro win, his first of the
season.

“I really want to thank Maxxis, their tires
really hooked up for me this weekend, and I also
have to thank PEP and DASA. Everything worked so
well. I had an awesome weekend,” stated Riley.

Houser Racing’s Harold Goodman grabbed the
Pro holeshot and led for a majority of the race,
but came under fire when Brad Riley caught up. Riley
pressured Goodman for a couple of laps before Goodman
made a mistake and Riley slipped by. Goodman had
a good enough gap between him and the rest of the
pack that he was able to stay in second and take
it all the way to the finish line.
