Mt Morris, PA (6/16/2012) –
Can-Am/Motoworks’ John Natalie, Jr. took his
home state win at High Point Raceway for round number
six of the 2012 AMA ATV Motocross Championships,
where he was joined on the podium by Chad Wienen
in second and Thomas Brown in third.
High Point Raceway saw good weather and good
racing, but the dry conditions did cause a little
dust that created some visibility issues. The
track also got a bit rough as the day progressed,
but that didn’t stop John Natalie, Jr. from
taking the overall win.

#13 John Natalie Jr grabbed the Moto One
Holeshot with #20 Josh Upperman &
#44 Chad Wienen tangling in turn one

Can-Am/Motoworks’ John Natalie, who was
feeling a bit under the weather for this round,
came on strong and took the moto one holeshot.
Natalie charged hard but came under pressure from
his teammate Joel Hetrick, who took the lead briefly.
Natalie got back out front after Hetrick encountered
issues, but it wasn’t smooth sailing for
the current champ as he soon came under pressure
from Thomas Brown at the midway point.

FOX's
#13 John Natalie wasn't alone out front
with #84 Thomas Brown applying the pressure
the entire Moto, but Natalie was able
to hold on for the Win
|
Natalie went wide at one point, which allowed
Brown to take the lead, but Natalie wasn’t
about to settle for anything less than the win
and reclaimed the lead quickly. Natalie was able
to relax a little after Brown began to fade late
in the moto, which let Natalie cruise to the checkered
flag for the moto one win.

Can-am's
#13 John Natalie finished 2nd in Moto 2,
which was more than enough to secure the
Overall Win |
In moto two, Natalie was in third off the start
and inherited second after just a few laps when
his teammate, Joel Hetrick dropped back. Natalie’s
moto one win meant he only had to finish in second
place for the overall, so he decided to ride smart
and held his position all the way to the checkered
flag for a second place moto finish and the top
spot on the podium.
“I’m not going to make excuses because
I’m sick. I just went out there and did
my job and did the best I could and came away
with the win,” said Natalie.
