Hurricane Mills, TN (8/18/2011)
– The 2011 Pro-Am classes this year featured
some of the best racing in years that all come down
to the wire, to decide the victor of each class.
Many times this season, the competition between
the top five riders pulled spectators in that would
line the fences to see who would come out on top.
The Pro-Am Unlimited class was one of these classes
to watch. Jeffrey Rastrelli took an early lead
this season in the points race. Despite Rastrelli’s
early lead, Kyle Fix and Mark Madl were in tow.
Later in the season Madl stepped up his game to
take the lead from Rastrelli by the seasons end.
When it came time to tally scores after AMA ATV
MX Round 11 at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch there
seemed to be some confusion as to how many throw
away scores were allowed in the Pro-Am ranks.

GBC
Motorsports' Nick Moser placed seventh in
the Pro-Am Unlimited Class |
Fox
Racing Shox' Cole Henry placed fourth aboard
his Can-Am DS 450 ATV |
Madl was under the impression that there were
three, (the number allowed in all other amateur
classes) but the rules were that only one throw
away in the Pro-Am classes. This pulled the blanket
out from under Madl and handed the overall class
victory to his Florida counterpart Jeffrey Rastrelli,
moving Kyle Fix into the third spot for the season.
Can-Am’s Cole Henry aboard his Can-Am DS
450 ATV captured the fourth spot for the season
while Jesse Barnes rounded out the top five. A
notable mention was Mushin Racing’s Nick
Moser. Despite not making a score for round 2
threw 4 Moser placed seventh overall for the season.

The Production class this year was the class
to watch riders competed for top honors and to
be crowned 2011 AMA ATV Motocross Pro-Am Production
champion. As with the Pro-am Unlimited class it
came down to the final round of the season to
declare the winner. Moto-Xperts / Dragon Racing
Fuels’ Casey Martin took the points lead
early in the season by winning the first two rounds.
However Blue Rok Racing’s Mark Madl consistency
on the podium gave him an advantage down to the
final round.
