Baltimore, MD (8/5/2013) - As the
weather gets warmer more riders are heading to the
trails. Some riders may find themself’s wanting
to upgrade or replace their worn out tires for the
new season. We recently had the opportunity to hit
the trails and do a yearlong test of the Maxxis
Zilla Utility ATV Tires.
Maxxis Zilla tires are among the lightest utility ATV tires on the market. The tires are designed for mud with a unique traction that provides quick acceleration and great braking performance. The Zilla tires come with aggressive 1.2 inch lugs. The tread is designed to dig into the mud and paddle through it.
ATVriders.com test rider, Wayne Blythe, put a new set of Maxxis Zilla tires on his Kawasaki Brute Force 650. The tires are built with a durable 6 ply rating and are constructed of high quality materials that we have come to expect from Maxxis. They are a biased-ply tire which means they do not flex as much on the sidewalls as standard radial tires.
Since the tires flex less than standard tires, the sidewalls do not bow out as much and there is a lesser chance of puncturing the sidewall while on the trail. The concept and design was set up perfect for Blythe and as spends his time blasting through mud and ripping around trails.

The Maxxis Zilla Utility ATV Tires are much more agressive than the stock Dunlap tires that come standard on the Kawasaki Brute Force 650 4x4 Utility ATV |
Blythe put the tires through their paces over the course of the last twelve months; he has ridden in mud, snow, hard-pack, rocks and more.
“The tires were great in the mud and on the rocks. They cleaned out really well and always gripped coming out of creek beds and other slick places,” explained Blythe.

The
Maxxis Zilla Tires are some of lighetest
Utility ATV tires on the market |
The tires are designed to be the lightest mud tire on the market and are not supposed to rob your machine of any power. This claim made us a bit skeptical, however, Blythe confirms that they took little if any, power away from his Brute Force.
