2010 BRP Can-Am ATV New Features Overview |
Air-Controlled Suspension (ACS) –
The 2010 Can-Am™ Outlander MAX
LTD line comes equipped with the industry’s
first air-controlled suspension. The ACS adjusts
the rear high-pressure gas Fox Racing Shox-built
suspension to six rider-selectable levels depending
on the trail conditions or rider preference.
This allows the LTD to maintain handling characteristics
even when fully loaded. The ACS air compressor
also comes with a hose that can be used to fill
tires while out on the trail. In addition to
the Outlander MAX 800R EFI LTD, Can-Am now offers
a Outlander MAX 500 EFI LTD option.

Dynamic Power Steering (DPS) –
Can-Am introduces its advanced power
steering system on all Outlander XT models,
the Outlander MAX Ltd models and the Renegade
X xc. DPS comes with two rider selectable modes
(“Min” and “Max”) for
more or less steering assist that is selectable
by the rider for preference or terrain –
an industry-exclusive feature. The Can-Am DPS
has a quicker response to steering torque input
than other power steering systems on the market,
and it has more kickback damping than the competition
without sacrificing essential feedback. In short:
Less kickback, more feedback. And you can be
assured the high-capacity; fade-resistant 50-amp
motor means the steering assist level will never
change no matter how hard you use it –
unlike some competition’s systems that
fade with constant heavy use. If you need more
convincing our system stands up to whatever
the trail bring, Can-Am racers have already
proven DPS in the gruelling GNCC race series.
