Glamis, CA (3/4/2012) - Dave Kuskie
of Fullerton Sand sports and Jon Crowley of UTVguide.net
teamed up for the first annual Industry Ride event
at Glamis Imperial Sand Dunes in southern California.
The SxS / UTV riding event was primarily by invite
only, but it was open to dealers, vendors, manufacturers
and basically any industry personnel in need of
a little rest and recuperation's.
Despite what many people think, working in the
industry is not all joy rides in the dunes and
testing suspension set ups at the motocross track.
In fact, many individuals find that after coming
to work within the industry they have even less
time to get out and enjoy their hobby than they
had before
“We never seem to take the time to ride”
said Kuskie. “We wanted to give everyone
an excuse to get together and come out, have some
fun, mingle and hang out with other industry personnel.”
And that’s exactly what happened.

Camp was made behind the Glamis
Beach Store that overlooked the rolling
sand dunes |
Jon Crowley of UTVguide.net was responsible for
the events editorial coverage, hoping that the
draw of having a few magazine’s and website
contributors on hand would be added incentive
for SxS / UTV businesses to come out to Glamis
for the event. It set the stage of folks to bring
out the projects they’ve been working on
with the promise of having them featured in a
magazine or on a website.
Though it wasn’t a sanctioned event, to
avoid any conflicts with the BLM, Kuskie rented
out a parcel of ground behind the Glamis store.
All they asked was for any company who showed
up to help kick in a few bucks for the rented
space as well as the catered taco meal that would
follow on Saturday night.

Sand Sports, UTVGuide.net, Pro Armor, SDR
Motorsports, TMW Offroad, DWT, & many
others brought out their side-by-sides for
a weekend in the sand at Glamis |
