Nestled on an Island in North Carolina
Goldsboro, North Carolina - Busco
Beach ATV Park and Campground is a riding paradise,
pure and simple. There isn't any other way to describe
what sits on an island in Goldsboro, North Carolina.
I had the pleasure of getting a personal tour of
this facility while covering the Extreme Dirt Track
National over the Labor day weekend, and to say
I was impressed is an understatement. Sitting on
2000 acres, the facility boasts virtually everything
one would want in an ATV or RUV getaway!
Comprised of mostly sand, the trails offer a
leisurely pace for those inclined to just cruise
around on miles of open trails. Don't get me wrong,
hard packed woods are available through pine groves
and oak flats that offer a diversity that is hard
to come by. Each trail seems to be littered with
vast open play areas that offer jumps, berms,
hill climbs and the best of all, water! Several
large lakes and ponds dot the landscape which
allows for waterside riding and more! The largest
body of water is open for jet ski's and camping
along the lakes edge just sets the tone for what
could be the premier riding area on the east coast.
A huge motocross track, a drag strip and a brand
new National TT track await those who make the
trip!

As we cruised the area, it was clear the family
oriented facility is aimed at providing an array
of activities with little in the way of rules
beyond safety. By rules, I mean that you can venture
just about anywhere and if you feel up to cutting
in a new trail through an area, go for it! My
guide did inform me that many try and have to
get yanked out of the swamp as bravado and gusto
overtake the ability to navigate the bottomless
holes that are hiding for the unfortunate but
the challenge is there if you can handle it! Camping
locations are abundant and you can choose between
primitive sites or RV hook ups to meet your needs.
How cool is it to be able to camp within feet
of a lake and spend your weekend in an atv paradise!
