20th Annual Rocky Mountain Jamboree ATV & SxS Trail Ride Review

Alpine, Wyoming's Stewart ATV & SxS Trail Adventure Ride Review

“The ride to the top was true trail riding and the scenery was awesome, but you had to pay attention because the trail rode along some cliff edges, so it was better to stop and enjoy the view than to risk driving off the trail and over the edge,” said Anderson.

The Yamaha Rhino 700 SxS / UTV features a 686cc liquid-cooled w/fan, 4-stroke engine that had plenty of power to explore the Stewart Trail

The trail twisted and turned its way up the mountain and along the way there were a few small waterfalls and overlooks along the way, and after climbing several thousand feet the pine forest canopy was replaced by Aspen tree colonies and wide open meadows filled with summer wildflowers, which added to the beautiful scenery.

“The trail is just great; there is a lot of variance. I enjoyed the inclines where you can really use the power of your ATV,” regarded Anderson his trail riding experience.

We climbed to over 8,000 feet & reached the summit which offered an amazing view in every direction. We could see thunderstorms rolling in the distance

Once we reached the summit of over 8,000 feet in elevation, the view was amazing in every direction. We could see thunderstorms and rain in the distance along with a few lightning strikes on some of the other mountain ridges, but luckily, the sun was still out over us..  The clouds and storms only added to the beauty, but it did block our view of the 14,000 feet high Grand Teton mountains in the distance, which can normally be viewed from the Stewart Trail summit.

After taking a short break from riding to enjoy the scenery, it was time to head down the other side of the mountain and we kept our eye out for wildlife along the trail.  We were hoping to see some big game animals since deer, sheep, and black bear are common in the area, but we did see a grouse along the trail edge.

A opening just wider than the Yamaha Rhino 700 SxS / UTV is used to limit the trail to only off-road vehicles

Also, the second half the trail was much smoother, but it did have a couple of small stream crossings and much tighter trails through the woods, and once we reached the end of the trail, we had to pass through a fence, which was just little wider than the width of Yamaha Rhino 700 SxS, to limit the trail to off-road vehicles.

The remainder of our ride was once again on two lane gravel roads along the Little Grey and Grey River back to the Flying Saddle Resort, which completed are 32 mile round trip ride, which took us just about 5 hours, but we stopped plenty times along the way to capture photos for the article, and it could easily be done in less than 2 to 3 hours without many stops.

The Stewart Trail in Alpine, Wyoming is one to add to any ATV or SxS / UTV enthusiasts bucket list with its great trails & breathtaking scenery

Once we arrived back at the Flying Saddle Resort we were treated to a five star meal at the Steak & Seafood House. They offer delicious seafood, Black Angus beef and an all-you-can-eat salad bar. It was a great way to finish our day in Alpine, Wyoming.

As off-road enthusiasts that have riden trails all over the U.S,  we can honestly say that this was worth the trip. It was one of the most scenic and fun mountain rides that we have been on. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Flying Saddle Resort, enjoyed awesome food and had a blast on the trails. The scenic views and wildflowers make for an unforgettable trip.
