With a quick glance you can tell that the Flying Saddle is an awesome place to stay. Several accommodations are available including pet friendly hotel rooms, cabins complete with living rooms and both mountain and river side views. The resort also offers a restaurant, a liquor store and a lounge.

Aside from the many amenities and atmosphere of the Flying Saddle Resort, the prime location is another reason it is a top pick for area visitors. The resort is just two miles from the trail head where the ATV and SxS riding takes place. Guests can easily ride their ATV / SxS right out of the parking lot to the trails.

“With the convergence of the Snake River, the Grey River and the Little Grey River you can do anything here. The activities are endless,” says Byan of the area surrounding the Flying Saddle Resort.

Before we could hit the trails in Alpine, WY, we had to register the Yamaha Rhino 700 SxS & Yamaha Grizzly 700 Utility ATV. The cost for an WY ORV Permit is only $15

Once we were settled in at the Flying Saddle we wanted to hit the trails. However, before we could do that we had to register our Yamaha Rhino 700 SxS and Yamaha Grizzly 700 ATV with the state of Wyoming because Wyoming doesn’t accept any out of state registrations stickers.  Regardless, the process was quick and easy and the ORV Permit only costs $15. We applied the stickers to the left fender of each machine.

There are a few ATV & SxS rental facilities around Alpine, WY including Riding & Raft, and Jackson Hole Adventure . Both companies also offer trailer rental as well

Also, there are a couple ATV and SxS rental location in the area, so if you don’t bring your own machine, there are a few rental options.  In the town of Alpine, Riding & Rafts offers full-day and half-day rentals along with trailer rentals, and pricing starts at $80.  Just 45 minutes north of town,  Jackson Hole Adventure Rentals also offers a full lineup of ATV and SxS rentals as well along with trailer rentals.
