Phoenix, AZ (4/27/2015) -
Lonestar/JRi’s David Flores took the
Production A class win at round number five
of the 2015 WORCS series, maintaining his status
as the class points leader.
Sand Hollow State Park in Hurricane, UT was
the hosting facility for this round and featured
a true off-road course with long laps that
included sand dunes, rock beds and rough terrain,
but defending champ, David Flores, was ready
for it.

Racing's David Flores Wins Production

Flores had a good start in second spot early
in the first lap, but it didn’t take him any
time to take over the lead. “My Goldspeed
tires hooked up, and I got a good jump. I
took a mid-line and ended up second off the
start. After a couple of corners, I took over
the lead,” said Flores.
Flores kept a fast and steady pace, and he
recorded the fastest lap time in his class
in the second lap with a time of 20:19.427.
Flores’ speed and focus kept him in the lead
for the rest of the race, giving him the Production
A win. “I put in some good lap times and just
tried to stay focused. The track was fun and
had a good rhythm. My JRi suspension worked
flawlessly out there and made it easy,” said
Flores.

David Flores got off to a 2nd place
start in Pro-Am |
In Sunday’s Pro-am class, Flores was hoping
for a repeat of his Production A performance
and looked as if he was going to make it happen
as he charged into the first lap in second
place. Flores was looking strong and fast
heading into the second lap, but a crash ended
his charge. Besides a few bumps and bruises,
Flores was uninjured, but he was not able
to continue racing. “I don’t even know what
happened. I was doing good off the start and
in second place. I’m a little sore but otherwise
okay, so I will be back at the next round
and hopefully take the win,” said Flores.
Round six of the 2015 WORCS series heads
to Cedar City, UT on May 22-24 where David
Flores will be going for the win in both Production
A and Pro-Am.
