you can try it without using the clutch just go back to far on purpose and then let off the throttle and shift with out pulling in the clutch. When you let off the throttle the engine compression starts to bring it back down. Thats the way I do it at least.

Sorry nausty but your wrong on this one. Fox has a 250EX that has an auto clutch and they are a pain because the lever has to go up twice as much as a 400 to shift. To shift fast enough on your quad to keep a wheelie is going to be hard, but get the front end up and shift as fast as you can. Thats all I can tell you.

keep your foot under the shifter and make sure your at the balance point when u shift

In my opinion the 250EX is the EASIEST quad to ride a wheelie on. I ride my wifes through all gears as far as there is land. I can sit, stand up on the grab bar, put my legs on the handlebars or just about anything else. Just dont be afraid. If you go too far the grab bar will keep you from flipping over, unless your in 4th or 5th gear!!

I agree with most of the other guys in that you should try to get the machine as far back on the balance point as you can and then ease of the throttle and shift keeping the machine on the balance point. There are places where I have ridden wheelies into fith gear, but be careful cause falling off at that speed hurts a tad. I would try not shifting out of 2nd or 3rd until you learn where the balance point is and the only way to do that is to stand the machine straight up, but dont worry, the back brake will set you down.

I would like to get some of my high speed videos sometime because I can ride some of the 3rd and 4th gear wheelies for a long ways giving I can find a nice feild to do it on and just show how fast and how far i can go riding a wheelie.

i am just now bein able to ride wheelies on my 300!! it took forever i could do a wheelie easy but i could'nt ride it, guess i was afraid i was gonna hurt it but i have mastered 1st gear wheelies and sometimes 2 but i cannot shift for crap! lol even without the clutch i either let it fall or i end up on my butt! lol just makes me mad cuz i had a 90 and i could ride a wheelie FOREVER! i mean i could hit 4th gear all the time and i could start at our house and ride to the neighbors (bout 1000 yards away) in any gear i wanted lol i loved that 90, but i love my 300 more:rolleyes:  :D

90s are so easy to wheelie with all u have to do is lean back and u can wheelie

i can ride wheelies from one corner on my road to the other and it's like atleast 1/2 mile long. once you find the balance point it's easy.i would think it would be hard to shift with the auto clutch cause they don't shift east when the rpm's are to high

i ahev a 250 and i found a private aiplane runway and during the week there is no 1 there so me and my budz measured it with a tachometer or water ever those gadets are called and it measured to be a little more then a qtr mile. me and my friends dragrace there and i wheelie the whole thing with my auto clutch quad

i couldn't shift mid-wheelie until i got my big gun, now i can shift all the way through the gears. And thats in the snow! I havent had a chance to try the exhaust in regular conditions yet. But a couple of times if your not careful shifting from 1 to 2 it'll just stand up on ya.

I would suggest the big gun, only because of the improvements it has made on mine. I can tell a big differince from stock, and it looks really nice too. I don't know about the e-series but i beat a buddys 250ex with a t-4 by at least 2 quad lengths.

i'd have to agree, my bro has a 250EX. fun little quads, it is kinda hard to get it al the way up to the balance point, but once u do, you can ride wheelies forever just get way back on the seat in first, amd slam yur butt down and hit the gas at the same time. and dont be scared, if it strarts goin back to far, tap the back brake. i learned on a grassy area where if u set it back it didn't hurt. id say find a grassy area, and just pop it up as much as you can, cuz i think you have to set it back once or twice before u can really find the balance point. but once u got it, you can ride them forever. jst rememebr the back brake if u get in trouble on a not so soft surface. ;)

i'd say big gun too, my bro has big gun exhaust on it, big gun race silencer. it does have alot more torque, it looke good, not to mention the sound! i'd say the sound is the best part! it sounds like a 400EX its got a deep roar until u pin it, then it lets everyone know u are there getting 2 times louder than it was. i'm defiantly with joe250. have fun!
