Team Skidplates are running second in the Womens race took a spill. Rider Heather Stevensen took a spill and flipped six times and bent her steering stem. She is still racing strong. Katie Miller is looking forward to the hills at night, to see what they will bring for a challenge.
Team Dirt Works who are running Pro came in to the pits to swape to Michael Burrows and the rider before ran a lap time at their pit of 14:23 Track is great they said and the riders are well.
Team Lazy M who are running in the B Class said they are changing riders about every 3 laps and the last time they had to swap quads since rider had to hold the battery in with his foot.

Pit Row Updates and then Race Standings:
HFM Engineering when they lost the lead lost rear breaks on one quad and the other quad had a bolt strip from the Gas tank, however looking at the overall standings they have pulled back into the lead and are leading by 39 sec.
Dirt Works Motorsports told me they lost the lead due to a stick going through the pedal and now they going out and going to give it a 110%. Even thought it is getting hard to see they are going to give it all!. For those who are watching online for Dirt Works they said HI!!!!!
Bannded H.P.L. said everything is good so far and riders are swapping real smooth.
Got Wood said the main quad for them has locked up and flipped twice. They have seen better days they said but giving it their all.
Team Twisted said they drove 16 hours to get here to race in this challenge and are here to win so they are going hard. Everything is running good for them and hopes it conitues that way.
Milwaukee Electric said they are running smooth also. They are switching about every three laps and quads are good.
Ironman Bryan Hickman has been running this race hard and long... this is his first ironman race and has a message to himself with duck tap on his handle bars that tells him how much longer. Currently he is running 6th and hopes to finish. The track is tacky and great!
Jac Racing said the track is "LONG" for the night race..... Speaking two the teammates who were out watching for their rider they usually race dirt bikes and motorcross, but really enjoy racing in this race. Those fast guys have not slown down one bit I was told.
Team Monkey Butt.....Hmmm what can I say about them!! They said they are down to one quad and to me seem a little tuckered out. They want to change their name to something more appropriate due to the race but cannot say online. They are were getting ready to change riders and are doing this about every three laps or so. They are currently in 4th
Team Last Minute said they are staying steady in 7th and hope to at least finish where they have been holding. They are currently holding on to the position by at least 10 min.

made it home at 7:00am Sunday, the quad broke down at the end of my 10th lap, it just quit, the battery died and the charging system stopped working. Rode my *** off those 10 laps on a brutal rough 7.5 mile course. Thanks everybody that cheered for me at the race and from home. I just let a little 6 year old boy down!!! I rode it till it broke.......

I'm a local guy here in Carlisle/Des Moines (actually friends of the land owner) and my oldest son ran in the 90cc stock class and took 3rd. My toy hauler was parked right next to the Can Am talk guys and had a great time chatting with them. Both my boys have bikes but I never had one for myself (I'm a snowmobile guy). I went out this evening and bought a like new Honda 400EX (for next to nothing) to get started in the Iowa Hare Scramble Series. Hell, maybe I'll run in the 2010 Heartland Challenge. A great time was had by all and the weather this year was much better than the rain, snow and sleet of last year.

Hey everyone this is walker Fowler from team HMF Engineering and just wanted to say that was freakin awesome!! Myself, Brian wolf, and Donnie ockerman talked about the race and the pit stop challenge and all the really cool people we met the entire way home and all we could say was how much fun that was even tho we only stayed in the hunt for 9 hours and 10 minutes. Can't wait till next year! Thanks to everybody who was yelling and cheering for us we gave her 110%!

Glad you had a good time. Your podium speech was pretty stellar too... "Ya third outta 3 aint bad"..:D You guys rode hard all day and it was fun watching. Also cool that you joined in the pit stop challenge, not sure a lot of pro guys would be up for that. Nice meeting you all and good luck for the rest of the GNCC season!
