"Valve adjustment.... How often?"

I picked up my 03 Mojave about 1 month ago, mint condition for 1000 bucks, it ran like crap until I adjusted the Valves and cleaned the pilot and leak jet, running perfect, I rode it twice and rechecked the valve lash and one of the intake valves had tightend and one of the exhaust had loosened, I made jetting adjustments and the throttle response is crisp, runs perfect, I only trail ride on the weekends and I adjusted dead in the middle on both the intake and exhaust at 0.228mm, how often should I recheck the valves? I hear that this is the death of the 250 motor, soft valves....any truth to it?

Honetly I couldn't say on how often, but to fix soft vavles good throw in some stainless steel ones. Which really isn't the answer you wanted but, Greg over at cycleworksracing.net is the best guy I know of for help on a mojave, check out his forum...
