2009 AMA ATV Motocross Nationals #4-Birch Creek- Race Coverage

Round #4 of the AMA ATV Motocross Series would see the state of Virginia as this round would be held at the Birch Creek Motocross Facility in Danville Va.

The weather for todays race was outstanding as temperatures started in the mid 60's but would climb steadily into the low 80's with enough sunshine to make anyone happy!

The track was in good shape early on saturday, but it's known to get rough as almost 40 different classes do battle on the track throughout the day!

Ant Burke would run into mechanical trouble as his CDI box malfunctioned. Thats not how he wanted his first moto of the day to start

Billy Cottage was on fire as he ran out front, and was wearing some cool retro Honda colors!

The Womens Pro Am is always fun to watch, and these girls can flat scoot around the track! Michelle Natalie would grab the lead early in moto 1

The battles usually fall into place and remain highly contested throughout the moto no matter if its a battle for first or last!

With Michelle Natalie outfront, I figured John would be somewhere close by keeping tabs on her. John is no starnger to racing pressure, but I bet he had butterflies watching this race!
