2007 GNCC Series Round #2 - The General -Youth Race Coverage
Round #2 continued what for most was a long break away from home that started in Vero Beach Florida at round #1. many of the youth riders and their families turned the back to back race weekend into a 9 day racing vacation.
90cc Mod winner Kyle Riley was eager to back up his win at round two and awaits the start in the early morning light of the "General"
Cody Hill rode in the 300cc Youth production class at the first round, and was at the General to test out the new DRR Limited model. Walking the 5 mile course friday evening, it was soon apparent to us that this course was one of the best laid out tracks for youth riders we had ever seen. An excellent mix of field, wood, mud and other obstacles that were going to test all the young riders and their machines.
Matthew Harris awaits patiently aboard his race prepped Kasea. Matthew wasted no time in the first round, grabbing the holeshot and leading the first two laps before running into some issues that prevented him from battling for the overall. This round was a new race, and he looked ready for the work that lay ahead of him.
Family and friends gather around each rider before the event, all nervous with excitement that every parent feels when their child is about to compete.
The 8 am starts are early for sure, but you wont find hardly a groggy person on the line, with the exception of yours truly! The national anthem played on as I snapped a shot over the shoulder of super talented Micheal Ferraro
The rest of the class quickly made the first turn more like rush hour as each rider made attempts to out corner the other and make a mad dash heading for turn two
