Seymour, MO - The Missouri and Iowa racers asked for it, and they finally got their wish with Round #6 of GNCC Series crossing the Mississippi for one weekend, and with Duane Johnson on fire the past few rounds by just missing the podium, the home state turf maybe what the doctor ordered for this up and coming rider.
One thing is for sure, everyone better be extremely careful this weekend because it definitely one of the most challenging courses of the year with Loretta Lynn’s appearing as a warm-up for the 11 mile track through the mountains of Missouri. Yes, I said “Mountains” because this track has as many elevation changes as riders will see at the Wisp, and the hillclimbs are super long and steep with some breath taking downhill that have some intense drop offs, which will really test the skills of even the best riders. Also, there a several river crossing and some freshly cut virgin trails, which will give newcomers to GNCC racing a taste of the style tracks that were common in the past.
The weather today was beautiful, but the 4 inches of rain that fell Wednesday into Thursday turned the grass fields into mud pit with the ground feeling like a sponge, and it sucked up any vehicle with any weight, which required almost everyone with a rig to be pulled into the field.
