2004 GNCC Round #10 Wisp PM Race

The western Maryland weather was perfect for another weekend of GNCC racing, and racers began scrambling for pit areas Friday afternoon.

With the ski resort being on the side of the mountain, level parking was at a premium, but could be found if you knew where to look. This parking area was up along the back side of Pro Row.

Also, part of the course at the Wisp is run on pavement through the pit areas.

One of the coolest things about the Wisp and a crowd favorite is the Ski Lifts that take you up the side of the mountain. While you ride up the mountain side you can watch the racing action below your feet. The lines for this attraction get pretty long during and before the racing begins, and is included with your admission.

Once you reach the top of the mountain, the view is incredible with Deep Creek lake off in the distance

Jeff Stoess can normally be found at every GNCC on his bike checking out the course Friday evening before the race.

Jeff had his whole family along for this trip, and his father kept an eye on his beautiful little girls

#4 Chad Duvall was even on his bike Friday, which was a great sign! He was healed up from his Rausch Creek wreck and was ready to make his return!

Greg Trew & Stephanie Parton decided to hike the track instead!
