Blingstar nerf bars

I'm thinking about buying a used set of Blingstar Factory Series Nerf Bars with integrated hell guards, but I have some questions before purchasing.
They're made to fit the 99-04 models, but I have a 08, will it fit?
I know that Blingstar discontinued making these nerf bars, but why?
Are there any problems with these nerf bars?

They should fit, every single year 400ex frame is basically the same except for the mounts for the plastics between the years.

This is what someone told me: The heel guard bolts are like a quarter inch off because you have a brake light switch bolted in the frame

but a 1/4 inch should be no problem, right?

You could use a small die grinder and grind it out a little bit but in my opinion you don't even need the heel guards bolt on since there attached to the foot pegs
