Some are rear wheel and some look like crank hp #s 400ex 25-27hps the 450r honda 36-37 it just has more torque in stock form than the other 450s the raptor at 46hps and the 700xx and kawi 700 sounds like crank #s as well but could be wrong.
The #'s all came from the same source, the California Environmental Protection Agency.

I appologize for the late post.
According to the EPA stats the
Honda TRX300EX = 22hp
Honda TRX250EX = 17hp
I think they are Crank + Bonus? lol.
300ex has about 18hp at the crank bone stock. 15-16 at the rear wheels.
It is probably decent for a baseline.. but I wouldn't use it for a decision between 2 similar models.

anyone know of a horsepower to weight ratio like why a raptor 700 will be beat by a 450 with less hp??????

they all have to be crank HP
It is not always about peak HP. It is huge How and When it makes this HP.Originally posted by Jnblaster05

An engine like in the 700R makes its HP very early in the RPM range and if you have someone shifting high in the RPM range they are completely out of the HP curve therefore putting less power to the ground. While some of your engines like the DS450 make their power up high in the RPM range so if you short shift it you are missing out on its power area. That is why you could have a machine with a nice long HP curve beat machines that have sustantially higher HP numbers.
