i am getting new rims for my 250 ex.
the stock is 4-5 and 9 by 9.
if i put a 10by8 on with a 3-5 offset would it make it wider or more narrow.

I wouldn't go with a 10x8. It will make it about 1-1/4" narrower.
-1" at the rims, -1/4" at sidewalls due to lower profile tire.
A 10" Rim generally is a bad idea everywhere except for maybe flat track. 10" rims = bent rims.
I'd stick w/ the 9x9 5+4's on 22's.

what would happen if i got a rim that was 9by9 and had a 6-3 offsett
ITP MAKES A 9X9 WITH A 3/6 OFFSET. I USE THOSE WITH A 20X11X9 INCH TIRE. THE BACK IS EXACTLY 3.5" WIDER THAN STOCK (1.75" PER SIDE). NOT ONLY THAT, BUT THE TIRE SITS QUITE A BIT MORE FLAT, AND REALLY HANDLES WELL IN CORNERS COMPARED TO STOCK.
Why would it be -1" at the wheels? Since the outside offset is still 5" wouldn't the overall track width of the rear be the same?Originally posted by bwamos
