John Lawson gave me the thumbs up, which was a great sign because #55 Doug Gust was healed up enough to race this weekend even though Suzuki told him he could have the weekend off, but Doug couldn't risk letting his championship hopes slip by him by watching on the sidelines knowing that he was only 51 points behind #13 John Natalie Jr in the Points chase and in racing anything could happen, and he still had a chance if he competed this weekend.
Doug Gust took a moment to talk with ATVriders.com

How have you been since your wreck at High Point?
Doug Gust
Not good, I was dizzy for a while, so I went back to the hospital again and they found that nothing was wrong with my head accept a bad concussion, but I had a compressed T7 vertebrate and I tore the ACL off my knee, so I have to have surgery after the season

Have you rode since High Point?
Doug Gust
No, I have been lying on the couch the past two weeks

Thanks for your time, Doug.
Doug Gust proved why he was the champion last year and remained in points contention for the championship this weekend even after two horrific wrecks at Birch Creek and High Point because he never gives up!
If you want anything in life, you have to work hard at it and never let road blocks in life keep you from pursuing your dreams because you have to be dedicated if you ever want to see your dreams turn into reality.
I am living my dream with ATVriders.com, and it hasn’t been an easy road, but I never gave up.
