There's a plate with 2 bolts holding it on,,on the right side of your motor,,that's were the oil filter goes,,ya might wanna drain your oil first,,,your owners manual will show you how to do this..

Thanks! We bought the quad used, so don't have an owner's manual handy. I'm trying to do this without my dad, so sorry if it sounded like a "too easy" question. I appreciate your help, instead of a snotty answer....

Well this cover I'm talking about is the size of a coke can,,it's round,,make sure you install the filter the correct way, should be labeled on the filter. and you'll only need 2 quarts of oil for the job..

    also,
there are 2 places to drain the oil from. one is on the bottom of the reservior, and the other is a small bolt near the shifter.

alos, if your oil filter came with a new O-ring, change it too.

when refilling your oil, you will only be able to get about 1.75 quarts into the bike. start it & let it run a few seconds. then shut it off & add the rest of the second quart.

You know the world is going crazy when France is accusing the US of arrogance, and Germany doesn't want to go to war.
