The Steele Creek round of the GNCC series was spectacular. The weather was tailor made for racing and racers turned out in record numbers. Over 300 riders registered for the morning class!
Racer Productions continued with sound level checks. The sound level test was again met with problems but seemed to go smoother at this event.
Racers Productions started enforcing the "kill switch" rule. This caught many by surprise and last minute solutions had to be found to be legal for the race. Racer Productions announced that all kill switches must function at tech by the next GNCC race and they will be inspected for proper function at tech.
Also, they were going to check to make sure they were connected to the riders on the line before the race!
The campground at Steel Creek is one of my favorites. There is ample parking and the facility offers alot of conviences not found at other rounds in the series. The scenary alone is worth the trip down to that area of North Carolina.
Here is over 300 riders preparing to do battle on what would become a very ruff and tuff course spanning 10 1/2 miles.
#454 Stefanie Verkade has finally starting attending some GNCC Nationals after racing for years in District 6 against the Guys in B Class and this year she moved up to A Class. She is a fast rider, so I expect her to do well. She is heading in the right directions after finishing 6th in Georgia.
#275 Erika Jones also has been doing extremely also with her best finish in Florida with a 4th
Stephanie Parton grabbed the holeshot! At first it would look as if Traci Cecco would be rubbing nerfs in the first turn, however Stephanie stayed on the throttle and was first thru the turn!
