    How Far can a 400 go?

    Can a 400ex be built to beat or keep up with a lightly modded Banshee??(pipes, filters, reeds) or hopefully beat one....

    I'm looking into building my ex this winter, and if I do it I will go all out--(lighten the flywheel, 11:1, big bore, 38mm Carb, Cam, Porting, etc). Would it be worth it?? would I be happy with the power? I would like to get about 40-44hp. Or should I wait for the new CRF450R (55h.p)motor

    Shorai Lithium Iron Battery

    Running E85--Jetting: 70 pilot, 240 main, HRC needle on bottom notch and shimmed.

    yea it can be done, mine is a banshee beater with the mods listed below and a few more things that i havent listed like lightened flywheel, and some special polishing that i dont even know if helps anything, its called swirl polishing, anyone know what that does if anything? but to answer your question it can be done. but for what i did it costed $4500

    I agree. If you spent 4500.00, you are crazy. You made someone a very happy rip-off artist in my opinion. A 440 is not near as fast as a 416, and you can quote me on that....JIM

    its not near as fast as a 416? ok, is a 416 faster on top? i havent found one yet as fast as this anywhere.

    .........hmmmmm....didn't think top speed made a difference. If I pull a guy up to 5th gear and then he walks away from me, that is fine with me. Those first 4 gears are all the usable power you need in a sport quad. You show me how many pro MX or GNCC guys are pegged in 5th>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>: ) JIM

    You might want to add some chassis and suspension mods to go along with that torque monster you have. I would doubt that you could ride that quad to it's potential on an MX track without shocks, etc. JIM

    I know what you mean, but still. How is it even possible to have a 416 out-accelerate a 440? The 440 makes more torque, and in most cases more horsepower. it just doesnt make sense. I've raced a ton of 416s, 440s, and 465s and only been beaten once, by a 465 running on alcohol. so believe what you want, i dont really care at this point.
