Drag Motor

OK I'VE DECIDED TO KEEP THE 400EX AND BUILD THE MOTOR. I'M THINKING OF GOING WITH A JE 416 PISTON WITH A 12.5 TO 1 COMPRESSION, WHITE BROS. DROP IN CAM, BIGGER INTAKE VALVES, 5 OR 3 ANGLE VALVE JOB, PORTING AND A 16 TOOTH FRONT SPROCKET TO START WITH. DO YALL THINK THIS WILL BE A GOOD DRAG RACE SETUP? I KNOW THE BANSHEES WILL KILL ME BUT I WANT TO GIVE THE RAPTORS SOMTHING TO THINK ABOUT. I ALREADY HAVE IT JETTED, CHOKE MOD, SPARKS ADVANCE KEY, K&N, NO AIRBOX LID, AND WHITE BROS. E SERIES SLIP ON. I RAN SOMETHING LIKE THIS SET UP ON THE DESK TOP DYNO AND IT SEEMED TO DO PRETTY WELL.

umm go down on your sprocket size this is drag racing not top end racing go lower so you have better accel that is the purpose of dragging , but your engine mods seem good i think you could probably hang right with a stock raptor and banshee

no.. stay stock... you will wheelie right over if you go low... or jsut get a wheelie bar then go low sprockets

if your gonna drag race you should get a manco dual seat go kart with triple 250cc honda cr motors...extended spindles and axel...run alcohol and 104 octanne boost....315x40 r17 car tires...simpson 5 point harness...roll bar...parachutes.....honda civic bucket seats......6x75 gears...50 horse of nos to each motor and pro circuit pipes...fmf powercore silencers..6 pack rack...firewall....neons underneth....arelli alloys bling-bilng rims(dubs).....yokohama tires and a rear view mirror with pink fuzzy dice

Actually you should keep that 16 tooth, and even get a 36 tooth rear. Drag racing is more top end than you think. keep the stock gearing and your gonna be blown away at the end of the track all the time. You see my mods in my signature and im running a 16/36 gear. It sucks for hill climbs but thats when I switch gearing.

And also the large gearing keeps your front end down. Makes feathering the clutch alot easier.

Also you'll probably be beating more Banshees than Raptors. Get all them mods and You should be about equal with a stock Raptor, add a carb and you'll beat him...... but than he'll just add an exhaust and it will be neck and neck again

get the curtis sparks 465 EX kit. put a 16 up front. leave rear stock

or get the 500 kit from fst they said they drag raced a banshee and it killed it the test was in dirt wheels along time ago and they said they put on like a 33 tooth back sprocket and that it flys. with this only heavily modded raptors and banshees will beat you

I talked to fst and they said the only raptor that would out run there 500 is a HIGHLEY mod. motor thats what they said thats runnig stoke carb!!! i almost done this but i bought a drag banshee instead more power.
