Can anyone tell me if a 16 tooth front sprocket fits on a 400ex or if not what would be the equivalent in the rear sprocket? How many teeth?
Thanks!

Personally, I havent put one on. But I have heard of other guys running a 16t with no problems. It should fit....

It'll fit, but the case saver will not (I've heard).

I read in a Dirt Wheels that a 36 rear sprocket is made, it won't make the difference that the 16 front will, but you can save the case saver and still experience more speed.

Thanks guys, What is the factory rear sproket size? Rocky Mountain has 38 and 39 tooth sprokets.

if i'm not mistaken i think the stock size is 38?
So if I wanted more top-end would I want a larger or smaller rear sproket?
Thanks!!!!
taller for top-end smaller for bottom-end
Stock rear is 38 and front is 15.
For more top end speed you would want either a larger front or a smaller rear.
For more off the line acceleration and less top speed you would need a smaller front or a larger rear. Good Luck

I have one and yes it does fit. It would be the same as going down two teeth in the rear, the only reason I have one is because with the 426 kit it does wheelies too easy... For a stock bore 400ex I dont think It would be worth it.
