Mod 400 ex OR just get a 450R

Hey guys, I am 13 years old and I race a fully modded Blaster. My dad bought me a 400 EX last year beofrre the talk of the 450's came out we have some mods for it already but we will loose money if we trry to sell the parts. My Dad says lets just carry on and put a CRF 450 motor in it. Do you guys think it is the way to go if we have alot of cash into it already?
    Thanks in advance

He cant legaly ride it but when I was thirteen I was 160LBS & 6 ft. so if your body size is large enough ride it ,stay with the EX they are great bikes plenty of power than go with the R in a few years.

Doesn't mean he's ready for it just cause he's big. You ever seen a 13 year old 6' kid play basketball. Compare it to a 23 year old 6' guy playing basketball. Coordination isn't there like it is on an older person. Hey, I'm not gonna tell the kid not to ride a 400ex or even a 450r, I just wouldn't recommend it.

    Keep the 400.
I had to make the same decision, I think a modded 400ex will hang with a 450r.

get the 450.....even with all the mods on the 400 the 450 is newer technology, liquid cooled and bone stock will run with if not beat most hopped up 440's. If its not fast enough ....the sky's the limit. I have not been graced to ride a 450r yet but have ridden the YFZ. Ride Red!
