    Jugs??

not that kind... the 250R ones...

I just won a bid on ebay, it looked like a 85 atc jug (Black) ported for midrange & it said a .020 86 piston comes with it, so I assumed (Dumass me) that I was getting a short rod jug.... I write the guy & ask some questions.... he comes back to me & says that its a 88 jug... & writes this:

"The jugs are unversial to all years, there is slight differences in the transfer ports. This is a 88 jug, The 88 and 89 jug are better than the 86 87 years. Yes, this setup will work on the short rod, you just don't use the spacer plate. The long rod allows you to increase your crankcase volume if used with the 86 piston and a spacer plate. The use of the spacer plate gives you a better powerband."

Is this true? I always thought that the 87-89 jugs were taller?? & why would a 88 have a spacerplate?

Also, he said I would have to change out the bottom dowels on the jug to my shorter 86 ones, whats the best way to get them out?
