    My 400 has a smoking problem.

    When I start it up it smokes for about the first 1-2 minutes. What could the problem be?

    Wow! Bad rings, fried piston, bad CDI, jetting might be off, their are tons of things it could be

    Could the valve seals be one of the reasons? What happens when they go bad?

    what color of smoke???? if its blue yes it could be valve seals

    i wouldnt worry about it mines been doin it for the past year dont worry as long as it stops and make sure you have oil

    It sounds like the valve seals. Just make sure you check your oil often.
