    timing ruined or not?

I am rebuilding my engine and my timing chain had some slack in it , then my friend pushed the piston down and brought it back up with a 17mm socked on the side of the case. he did it a couple times and i was wondering if my timing would have chainged. Its still on the sprocket.

It does not matter that your friend turned the engine! Just pu the piston to the top and you are fine !! Line up the timing mark !!

it doesn't matter as long as the timieng marks are on TDC,I doubt the chain slipped you would have had a mess on your hands trying to get it unstuck because it would have binded.

use the 17mm to get the motor on TDC and then make sure the cam gear is set,it has to lines on it that should alomost touch both sides of the cam bed.(gear has 2 marks one at 9 o'clock one at 3 o'clock) If you didn't take the cam off than I'm sure your OK.

Not to be negative, but a service manual may help.
