    Rear Axle Locknut 400ex

Well, I am in the process of changing my axlebearings, and I had some doubts concerning the tightness of the right locknut. (there are 2locknuts on the right side that can be tightened towards the braking disc)

One person says as tight as possible against the braking disc, other person says no don't do that you will destroy the bearings.

So I am a little bit confused.

Do I have to tighten the nuts against the braking disc, if not, how tight should they be?

(when I got my quad the nut was a couple of inches away from the disc so didn't even touch it)

first screw them kinda close to the brake rotor by hand, put that c-clip in the grove on the axle then screw the nuts out to the tire and tighten them down
