    What carb do I have?

1998 300EX - reason I am asking is I am ordering jets, I have heard there was a carb change since the 300ex was introduced. I just haven't had time to take the carb off to get make and a #off it. Been too busy putting a new crank in the push mower.. lol

also what would be a good main jet for a ported airbox, and oversized k&n style filter? (couldnt find a specific post that answered that, sorry if its been answered before...)

    Thanks
    Steve

you have the 32mm carb...before 96 i think it was they were 28mm..either way they both accept the same style main jet...i would bump the main up to a 128 if thats to rich try a 125...heck 128 might be lean if it is try a 130

I ended up just going to the honda shop and getting Kehien jets. A 125 worked good for me, and 1 notch down on the needle. This is with a ported airbox and k&n, stock pipe(trying to keep my low end torque)
