There is a sticker there with the year and type but no VIN?? I thought they stamped that on the motor??

The number they stamp on the motor below the front sprocket is the engine serial #. In my Honda manual it says the VIN# is located on a sticker on the frame towards the inside of the left shock (almost where you would hook up a steering stabilizer).

The VIN# is on the flat bar on the front in between the upper bumper mounts.
