    Arrow valves

    how do you ajust the valves on a 300ex?

    I am mechanically challenged, and I did it without a problem... Go under the EXTECH section and follow the 400EX way. It is the same exact way, but there are two diffrent covers for the valves. Just get the tools and take your time. The only hard part is taking the plastic on and off.

    Just did our 300ex last weekend. Most of the time to do the job was getting the plastic on off and on.

    The valve adjustment itself is easy. Unlike the 400, the clearance is the same for both intake and exhaust, .004 inches. Torque on the lock nuts for the valves is 13 ft lbs.

    is the torque for the 400ex the same 13 ft. lbs?

    According to the service manual torque value for the lock nut on the valve clearance adjustment screw on the 400 is 17 ft lbs.
