    Question Replacement TRX400EX handlebars?

I bent the heck out of the stock handle bars on my 2005 TRX400EX.

Looking at a parts fiche, I see bar weights are used. I have two questions,

    1) Are the bar end weights really needed?

    2) Other than Honda $71.00 plus freight. Who makes a replacement handle bar and, will it also require bar weights? I'm looking for O.E.M. quality, nothing fancy.

ive never really heard of bar weights for handle bars? I doubt they would be needed. there are lots of options for replacement bars. check out www.rockymountainatv.com for a good selection to choose from, they have charts and measurements to help you find exactly what size you need. I know a lot of people upgrade to pro taper bars.

The weights are just there for the screw in attachment, don;t need them. I bought Renthal bike bars and glue and wire tie Oury ATV grips. I also filled the hollow handlebars with silicone to help deaden vibration. OEM quality handle bars suck, any tip over usually bends them easy…..go with aftermarket. My renthals have had their days of spills and still perfect.

I used Tusk CR high bend, although I would have liked them an 1" or so higher.
Bar weights I assume are to kill vibrations, use silicone like DG said.

I bought a knockoff protaper set on ebay for around $40 shipped that have an actual protaper pad to disguise the cheaper bars and they have been great, also came with grips and glue. Rolled the quad a couple times on hills and haven't bent them yet. They rise a little higher than stock and are a little more comfortable in the trails

Can't see them too well in the picture but figured I would put it up anyways.

like my tag t2 bars, other than being low, even with the CR high bend in them.

Spend the money and get Pro-Tapers, you'll thank me later. They're a tad spendy, but they're the best!
