This information will assist you with fully utilizing the high-quality shocks on your Maverick X ds. Here is an overview 1 of available adjustments.
This example list of shock settings is representative of a 2 setup used by a driver in dunes facing numerous whoops at a fast speed and is used only as reference for what can be done.
1. Spring Preload:
The spring preload adjustment has an impact on the stiffness of your shocks and the ground clearance of your vehicle. To increase the spring force and provide a firmer riding experience, turn the adjuster ring downward (shorten the spring). This also increases the ground clearance and center of gravity of the vehicle. To decrease the spring force and provide a more comfortable riding experience, turn the adjuster ring upward (lengthen the spring). This action decreases the vehicle’s ground clearance and center of gravity.
To increase preload (stiffer), turn the adjuster ring downwards. To decrease preload (soften), turn the adjuster ring upwards.
Note: If you added extra weight or height to the vehicle (ex. bigger tires, roof, doors, etc.) it’s important to re-adjust the ground clearance to 13-in (rear). Refer yourself to the operator’s guide for additional information.

* Do not increase the front/rear spring preload by more than 15 mm (0.59 in.) from the factory setting and do not decrease the front/rear spring preload by more than 5 mm (0.2 in.) from the factory setting.

2. Spring Crossover:
Your vehicle is equipped with a dual stage spring design. During the initial part of the shock stroke, a softer spring rate provides a comfortable ride. When the shocks are compressed further, a second, stiffer spring rate engages to protect against bottom out and body roll. The spring crossover adjustment allows you to modify when the spring transitions between
the initial (softer) and final (stiffer) rate.
To increase stiffness, turn the crossover rings downward. To decrease stiffness, turn the crossover rings upward.

3. Low-Speed Compression (LSC):
The LSC primarily affects the compression damping during slow suspension movements such as G-outs or smooth jump landings. It also affects the vehicle’s ride comfort and wheel traction. Choose a LSC setting that gives good body control (roll in corners, dive under braking, squat under acceleration, etc.) without causing excessive harshness or loss of traction.
For more damping (stiffer), turn the screw clockwise. For less damping (softer), turn the screw counterclockwise.

** To adjust the LSC, HSC and rebound damping, turn adjuster clockwise until it stops, then turn adjuster counterclockwise by the specified amount.

4. High-Speed Compression (HSC):
The HSC adjuster affects the compression damping during medium-to-fast suspension movements such as steep jump faces, harsh flat landings and aggressive whoops. The goal is to run as little high-speed compression damping as possible without bottoming. The HSC gives the ability to externally adjust the damping easily.
For more damping (stiffer), turn the socket clockwise. For less damping (softer), turn the socket counterclockwise.

5. Rebound Damping:
The rebound adjuster affects how the vehicle rolls / pitches under acceleration and braking and also impacts how quickly the wheels return after the shocks have been compressed through a series of bumps. A rule of thumb is that rebound should be as fast as possible without negatively affecting chassis control or feeling bouncy. Excessive rebound damping will typically be felt as suspension “packing”. For high-speed, open desert terrain, you may prefer to run less rebound damping for maximum traction.
For slower rebound, turn the screw clockwise. For faster rebound, turn the screw counterclockwise.
