2008 tranny problem. I'm stumped

Has anyone here replaced the second gear on a 2008 model. On the spline shaft there are two washers that go on after the gear is put on. The two washers both have the spline cut. One washer has slots cut in them and the other has tabs that fit into the slots.

Here is my issue. The spline cut for each one is different. I know it goes on there because it came off there.

Has anyone else done one of these?

I've looked at it several times. But the splines on the washers have me stumped. I ordered a 99 to 2013 clymer.
Hoping that it shows it in there. But would like to put it back together this weekend.
