    rev limiter question

After reading some other post I still don't have a clear idea. There is a metal bar to remove but what do you do with the wires? Also I see cdi boxes that up the rpm by 1000. What or how much does the metal bar up it by? I have a Polaris predator but as I read the system is the same.
Thanks. It is a 06 too.

OK I figured out the jumper question . I just like to know what the numbers represent on the back of the CDI. does 0= 6000k rpm and 7= 12k rpm?
